Dirty Little Secrets

A few weekends ago, during Isabelle’s birthday party, I was visiting with a few cousins of mine. They are regular visitors to The Michael Chronicles. They said, “Danielle, in your blog pictures, your house always looks immaculate! Is Conrad an unusually helpful husband??” So, in light of that, I have a few confessions to make, followed by some rather discriminating pictures to share.
1. Yes, Conrad is helpful. Much more so than any other male (who shall remain un named) whose home I grew up in.
2. I have a dirty little secret (that I’ve shared with you before). Her name is Carol. She visits twice a month. I love her.
3. I am a cleany. When my house is a mess, I get stressed!! I love order. It’s almost like a sickness. When I was a kid, my idea of fun was to clean my sister’s room and put my books in alphabetical order. I couldn’t sleep with my closet door open. I had to get out of bed and close it neatly, before I could drift off!

Now with my soul lightened by confession, I now give you, “The impossibly white kitchen floor.”:

My contract is almost up and then it'll come off the market. I may yank it right before Labor Day just so I don't have to deal with it anymore. When is the new one going to be done? I am so excited for you guys.

LOL!! Oh Danielle was that a crumb on the floor? I was just telling my husband as soon as I go back to work I'm getting me a Carol. I will have to say out of all my friends growing up you always and I do mean always had the cleaniest room. That is a good thing.

OH how I wish I had a Carol! I have practically begged James for a Carol! However, he insists it is silly to pay someone to do something we could do! Really, what does he know considering my house is very lived in and not immaculate by any means and he is home all day! LOL :D

Nellie - Your dad told me I had to write a reprisal on the blog to defend him. I have to say that your dad, while he may not be a neat freak now, has surely come along way by always helping and keeping the house us while I work at school. So now everyone who reads your blog will know that you really can teach an old dog new tricks!! :-) Love, Oma

My lifesaver is named Kim and she is just that - a lifesaver. I would be going nuts without her. Having lived with Danielle, I can speak from experince that yes she is a neat freak most of the time!! But messies and cleanies can co-exist without destroying each other!

You put up all these lovely posts about your daughter and family and only get a few comments on them. Then you make a post about a housekeeper and a dirty floor and you get 7 comments on it! What does that say about the rest of us?! LOL

I loved the Isabelle jig... you can see she's got the rhythm in her, it just wants OUT!
And thank you for your confessions of your kitchen floor transgressions... a fridge picture would be the true test! :) RM
