Happy Friday Blog Game

I got this from Sohailah's blog. I haven't been getting many comments lately, and am beginning to wonder if people are still reading our blog?! So, to selfishly solicite responses, I would like to play the following game:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Danielle I have so many memories I don't even know where to begin. What about all the lovely cheerleading memories we had growing up that half the time I wasn't quite sure if you were really enjoying cheering or silently making fun of the sport that we endured our entire high school life.

How do sisters pick one memory to leave, there are so many of them. Some of my favorites are the missions trips we went on together and watching me fall into the river in Costa Rica while white water rafting. Or the college years when it was just the 2 of us and we had so much fun together. Or, more recently, all of those dinner at the mexican restaurant and hot tub dips at the hotel in Bowling Green (before the baby of course). Talking to Conrad for the very first time in the hot tub at the hotel.(he was on the phone, not in the hot tub with us :)) Too many memories to pick just one.

Ha ha....well, let's see....how bout a timid (at that time) 16 year old girl arriving in India, knowing only two people and having her luggage lost. Oh yeah, that was me. Then there was this big sister who helped me out by sharing many of her own clothing items and other things so that the for-mentioned girl could survive on the trip. Duh, that was you. I'll definitely never forget your generosity or that trip. I was actually just reading my journal from that trip last night. It made me cry. :) <3

Danielle,

Everytime I think of you, I always think of you saying something like "Oh, he's such an ISFJ, no wonder he acts like that!" Or you talking about that love language book "She's TOTALLY a quality time person!"

:) Love ya, friend!

Danielle,
I am wondering if you remember me coming over to your house when you lived next to Aunt Brenda, on Berlin Road, and we would play in your room forever, you would push the chair up to the wall phone in the kitchen and call Raggedy Ann to comeover to a pizza party. Do you remember learning to jump rope on the little cement area at GramMargie's on Smokey road? I will also never forget teaching your and Jona how to swim at the racquet club swimming pool, you both were quick learners. I truly enjoy each and every post on your blog. The pics are always such a bright spot in my day. I was wondering if you could get your sister to try blogging for us too?
I love you and your entire family.

Danielle, I don't have room on this blog to start with the memories - where would I start anyways? But I do remember standing by an incubator with my beautiful, frail little premie and begging God to save her life and give her to me to raise, because I couldn't bear to lose another child within a year. You were a fighter then, as now. And God granted my request. You were almost 3 weeks old before I got to hold you and its hard to put into words what kind of emotions that evoked in me but I wanted you to know that you have been a joy and a treasure to your dad and I alal the days of your life... and, well, yes a challenge too, in some respects!!! It was amazing to be your parents and watch you grow and become the woman of God that you are now. Seeing you with your husband and child of your own brings us such exquisite joy!! Thank you, Honey, for being who you are.

Ah, so difficult to pick one. I agree! ORU days... I think of coach Duke and his jokes about your "nappy" hair, and our past curfew (past room check) one am workouts with Cindy. Of course, there are the "what do we think about this guy" talks through our single years, our divinely visited prayer times for the world, and now all to seldom phone conversations on the joys and challenges of the domesticated life. What a friend!

My favorite has the be the night I got stung by a scorpion, trying to protect the then-crawling Emily. Kevin calling dial-a-nurse, you holding Emily, and me, trying to cut off circulation from my finger to the rest of my hand, verbally writing my will, which included you and Kevin getting married and raising Emily. Thank Goodness that scorpion bites are not as fatal as all us Yankees thought they could be!!!

Shooo-weee! I remember the scandelous incident with Kirsten-and-the-internet (which turned out to be Tony-and-the-internet)... and I remember you taking us to the Short North - only for us to be pelted with eggs (which hit Kirsten - the only straight guy there!!)...and staying over at your place - and interesting yaks with you... and the time you came with TM to SA and Nick, you and I sat in a dark car for hours yakking about all kinds of intense things... but I must say - I did giggle at the post from Natalie (you and your personality tests!)... and I STILL remember your "choose which hill to die on" motto - which, I think you got from Rachel.
I find you SO easy to connect with and relate to - and it's frustrating to live on the other side of the planet!!! PS: you can't comment on my blog (automatically) because... (insert long technical explanation here to do with mac software which I don't feel like boring you with).
I do read your blog - about once every two weeks - and then I catch up on all the older posts I may have missed...so ja! I'm very updated with the Michaels - even though I haven't SEEN you face to face for... tooo long!
