Empty Arms

Today is my first day back at work. Conrad and I took Isabelle to daycare this morning and left her in capable arms. A friend, and actually the person who was going to watch her in her home, but took a position running the daycare (our 2nd childcare option), met us in her room and actually took Isabelle this morning. I was sad on our way to work and my arms feel very empty this morning.

When I got back to work, a bunch of people had quit or moved on and I got a new boss, who starts today too. It's kind of weird to be back! But it was REALLY good to see my good friend Natalie, who I have missed our regular chats with. I told Natalie that seeing her today was the highlight of my first monday back! Thanks Nat!!

I've been waiting all day to hear how you (and Conrad) did but especially Isabelle. It was tramatic for me - I know how hard it must have been for you. If I had the phone number to the daycare I would have probably called to check on her - wouldn't they just love me???

Your dad found out today fromt he dorctor that he has shingles so I'm not sure if we'll be able to see you guys this weekend or not. It's contagious for awhile.

We both are having Isabelle withdrawal. I'm callin as soon as you get off work to make sure everyone's ok. Love, Oma

Thanks Danielle! How nice to have a special shout out in your blog! :) I couldn't wait for you to come back to work, I missed our regular chats too!

It was great to see you yesterday and hear all about Isabelle and your adventures of motherhood so far. I really cherish our friendship!

See ya later... probably at lunch this afternoon!
